6th Grade Boys
Eagle Ridge: 37 , Smarts Mill: 41
The Eagle Ridge Boys 6 entered their first round playoff game against Smarts Mill looking to avenge their recent disappointing loss to the Mavericks. Strong first half defensive play and an efficient offense appeared to be hinting at an Eagles victory with a 22-13 halftime lead. Unfortunately, however, the Eagles could not sustain their performance, and they were eliminated from contention with their second loss to the Mavericks in four days, 41-37. While their play was much improved over the previous loss, the Eagles committed turnovers at inopportune times and could not score when the heat was on. The Mavericks played a strong third quarter, tying the score entering the final period, 27-27. They took the lead for good late in the game.
Erik Thysse had his best game of the season to lead the Eagles with 17 points and 9 rebounds. Adam Lewis was also a major factor offensively with 10 points. The Eagles also got strong rebounding contributions from Blake Ratliff (5 rebounds), Mitchell Braumann (5) and Logan Reed (4). Unfortunately, despite the team's valiant efforts fell short and the season is now over. The Eagles finish with a 2-9 record, however, the season was filled with learning opportunities, significant improvement, and excellent competition. The coaching staff thanks the players and the families for their dedication and support of the team, and hopes to see everyone again next season.

Eagle Ridge: 58, Seneca Ridge: 37
The Eagle Ridge Boys 7 pulled off their first round playoff victory with a win against Seneca Ridge, 58-37. The Eagles came out strong but allowed Seneca Ridge back in the game during the first quarter. The Eagles then took command in the second quarter and continued throughout the game. The offense was led by key scores from Bubba Lough, Warren Miles, Chris Harold, Michael Lord and Trace McSorley. The Eagles tough defense was led by strong pressure on the ball by Kevin Bradshaw. Rebounding was led by Michael Lord, Warrant Miles, Chris Harold, Jimmy Higgins and Bubba Lough. The team will be ready for the next round of the playoffs, taking on Smarts Mill.
8th Grade Girls
Eagle Ridge: 22, Harper Park: 25
In a game with the spirit of March Madness, the 12th seeded Eagle Ridge Girls 8 lost a heartbreaker to the 5th seeded Harper Park Hurricanes, 25-22. The Eagles came out fired up, playing their best first quarter of the season. They executed their full court press to perfection, causing the Hurricanes to turn over the ball frequently. The Eagles jumped out to a 5-0 lead but couldn't expand it, as Harper Park regrouped to trail 7-6 after 1 quarter. The Hurricanes turned their defense up notch in the 2nd quarter, causing the Eagles to get very few open shots. A 3 pointer at the buzzer gave Harper Park a 16-9 halftime lead. That shot ultimately became huge.
While the Eagles continued to struggle against the Harper Park defense in the 3rd quarter, they turned up their pressure, allowing the Hurricanes just 5 third quarter points. Trailing 21-13 going into the final period, the Eagles used their full court pressure to rally. A steal by Caroline Magnotti with 45 seconds left gave the Eagles the ball trailing 23-22. However, Ashley O'Neill fouled out diving for a loose ball, sending the Hurricanes to the line. Harper was able to make 2 foul shots, and a last second 3 pointer by Caroline Magnotti fell short. Team MVP Ashley O'Neill led the Eagles in scoring with 15 points, while Eryn Mahoney continued her strong play with 7 points. Courtney Mahoney, Victoria Gilbride, and Hannah Boerger did a great job rebounding and playing dominant interior defense. Ryan Braumann, Amanda McDermott, and Julia Sandgren caused the Hurricanes fits in their full court pressing defense. The Eagles should be very proud of the way they played and even prouder of how they represented their school and community, as they earned the respect of the fans and opposing coaches watching the game.
