Belmont Ridge Defeats Eagle Ridge

(Dec 27, 2007) -The Lady River Hawks remain undefeated after their 4th game fending off Eagle Ridge winning 39-24.  While it took some time for the Lady River Hawks to feel the Eagles out, they did get into their rhythm. Meagan Wilbur put the team on the scoreboard with a free throw bringing the score to 1-7 Eagles.  Dazia Hall helped close the gap, tying the score 13-13, then followed up with strong drive to the hole taking the lead just before the half time buzzer making the score to 15-13 Lady River Hawks.  Nicole Irwin, Megan Wilber, Kelly Stansik, and Krista Ferrara fueled the Lady River Hawks relentless defense, holding the Eagles scoreless threw the 3rd quarter.  Nicole Prince, Shannon Kronstein, Jennifer Solana, and Erin Sheehan added force to the Lady River Hawks unselfish offense prevented the Eagles from ever regaining the lead.  The Lady River Hawks finished the 4th quarter strong demonstrating the wide range of their basketball talent.
